Dear Friends & Guests,

Many of you have kindly asked us about our employees. We are thankful for your concerns and have passed them on to the staff. While none of the employees present at the hotel at the time the earthquake struck were injured, they have suffered unimaginable losses: Close family members have perished or were injured and nearly all have lost their homes.

We have been actively involved in helping out those members of the staff that have been struck the hardest.

The unsolicited contributions we have received to date from many of you have been unbelievably helpful. We thank you profoundly on behalf of all the employees. Your generosity has prompted us to establish an employee fund which will be used exclusively to help employees find shelter for themselves and their families.

I have established a separate account at Citibank in Washington D.C., which will only be used for donated funds. The proceeds will be transferred to Haiti by bank for distribution to the affected employees.
